Jason and Cara are very near and dear to our hearts. Jason is Paul’s brother and Cara is our soon to be sister-in-law come December! I guess when you’re related to photographers, your engagement session lasts days! Back in September we all traveled up to the North Shore for a weekend of seeing the fall colors, hiking, and spending time making memories as a family. It was the second year we’ve done this, but Cara’s first trip with us. It was wonderful and we look forward to many more years doing this as a family. We already love Cara so much and can’t wait til she’s officially part of the family!
For their engagement session, we first hiked up to Carlton Peak which is where Jason proposed to Cara a few weeks earlier. She had no idea! Jason set up his hammock for them to sit in and asked Cara if she wanted a drink. She said yes. Then he asked if she wanted something else. Thinking he was asking her if she wanted a snack, she started to say something when she turned around and Jason was down on his knee. So it was only natural we took a few photos where they were engaged! We also took photos on our way home throughout Duluth, and then about a week later we met up again with Jason and Cara at the apple orchard.
The fall colors were absolutely AH-MAZING!
We all picnicked here on another day hike. We were watching the dark clouds roll in and got pretty soaked on the way back to the car, hence only one photo here!
Then it was onto Duluth for part 2.
The North Shore is so beautiful- and what a beautiful day this was!
Finally, part 3-at the apple orchard. Again, we were watching the rain clouds roll in, but I’d love to shoot at an apple orchard again in the fall. It’s so fun!
We were having a hard time finding those good honeycrisp apples, so Cara got up for a look at some apples up on top.
Congratulations Jason and Cara! We can’t wait for your wedding in just 2 months!!
